BANJA VRDNIK - THE IDEAL PLACE FOR YOUR VACATION If you want to escape from the noise of the city, you want nature, fresh air and long walks, Banja Vrdnik is the ideal place for you! Where is Banja Vrdnik and how to get there? The spa and the village of the same name Vrdnik are located in the heart of Srem, in the municipality of Irig. They are spread over the southern part of the well-known Fruška Gora, which is adorned with linden forests and infinitely long paths for walking and other sports activities.  Banja is 77 km away from our capital, Belgrade (most of which is on the highway), or more precisely, about an hour's drive by car. The people of Novi Sad are so lucky that there is a spa in their neighborhood and they can reach it in less than half an hour.  If you are going to this destination from Kragujevac, get ready for a journey of almost 215 km, and from Niš about 315 km.  History of Vrdnik Spa Way back in 1315, the name Vrdnik was first mentioned as a fortress, of which only one small part and a very significant historical monument remains today, the famous Vrdnik Tower. It was not until the beginning of the 18th century that this name was mentioned again, but this time as a populated place.
